geeky new purchases

Dad flew into town today with his new purchase; a fancy new pretty cool GPS. We used it to "find" the new Starbucks where I'll be working in a couple weeks. I may have to get one of those soon! I would be particularly useful for traveling and finding my way around cities (ie. click here to view Misguiding Myself in Melbourne)!

I also made a new purchase today: New registration and plates for my car. I debated getting the personalized plates. "A RIP" was available, but I won't be around 1/2 of the year to see them and make the extra money worthwhile. Perhaps I'll get them when I return. In the meantime, I can't use my personalized "RIP JAV 3" Illinois plates to locate my car in parking lots now, but I do have a nice outline of Mt Rainier on the Washington license. Does anyone have any useful ways to remember this number?
